Dear interested parties in our PIWI Newsletter,

Thank you for subscribing to the newsletter. We will inform you at irregular intervals about the latest PIWI news.

PIWI Germany is being founded

"New paths are created by walking them."

"New paths are created by following them."
This is the motto under which a group of PIWI interested parties has come together in recent weeks to set up the regional group PIWI Germany.
We are very pleased about this development and want to build up "PIWI Germany" with joint efforts. It is exactly the right time to go public more often. We hope that as many PIWI fans as possible will support this spirit and become involved.
With the foundation of "PIWI Germany" we can help to strengthen PIWI internationally and, together with the other regional groups, to further the PIWI theme.

The current results of the wine competitions around PIWI wines show what high quality has already been achieved. They offer the consumer many opportunities to experience the unique taste experiences of the new grape varieties.

Concours Mondial de Bruxelles wine competition:

Success for the PIWI Hibernal variety
The 27th international wine competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles took place on 4-5 September 2020. A total of 8,500 wine samples from all over the world were evaluated. The winner in the white wine category was the PIWI wine Hibernal 2015 Beerenauslese from Moravian B / V Viticulture Milotice.
The Czech Republic thus took fifth place in the medals awarded, behind France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. According to Jiří Toman (cellar master), the wine is still very interesting, fruity and fresh after five years of maturation. "If the tasters had been given the variety name at the tasting, the wine would probably not have become a champion." Probably the tasters would have given the sample to Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand, "says Jiri Toman.
