What began in 1998 with a lot of will to work, a large portion of courage and four small wine barrels has grown into a stately family business.
We cultivate five hectares of vines in various plots from Vispertal to Varen, and in addition to traditional Valais varieties, we also vinify very special and unique wines. The winery in Turtmann is ideally located for this; The famous Visperterminen vineyards are just thirty kilometers to the east and the sunny Varens vineyards to the west.
In the second generation
The brothers Diego and Roman have been running the company since September 2019. You will be actively supported by Nina Baumann-Salzmann and Sonja Geoffray-Baumann is available to advise you on oenological questions. Hans-Peter & Irene have started their well-deserved pension and are now taking things a little easier - but they are still indispensable for the family business.
Simply sustainable - thanks to Piwi vines
As winemakers, we work in and with nature all year round. Sustainability in dealing with flora and fauna is therefore our top priority. Our plots are processed according to the guidelines of integrated production (IP) and Vitival's regulations. All of our vineyards are green and we do not use any weed killers. We only treat our traditional vines with biological agents. In addition, we are the driving force behind natural viticulture in Valais fungus-resistant grape varieties. These relatively unknown grape varieties enable us to produce grapes ecologically without the use of pesticides!
