Winery description:

Innovative - traditional - close to nature

Handmade and excellent

Winery at the Steinig table is a family business with self-generation in the third generation. Founded in 1970 by August Rutishauser, led by Christoph Rutishauser in 1981 and further developed by Roman Rutishauser since 2015.

A stone's throw from Altenrhein Airport: In the excellent locations of the Buchberg, with the mild climate, expressive grapes thrive in extremely steep conditions on poor, clayey soil.

We cultivate 8 different grape varieties on 7 hectares of vineyards in harmony with nature, through targeted promotion of biodiversity, sustainably and in elaborate manual work.

From this, we carefully vinify 14 different, first-class quality wines of the highest quality in the wine cellar with passion and passion. Classics such as the Riesling-Sylvaner and the violin (Johanniter, Big Gold PIWI Wine Award 2016), but also internationally known varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Our exclusive kernel, which we were the first to grow in Switzerland in 1973, is widely known and valued.

The care of the vine determines the quality of the wines. In harmony with the vineyard habitat, we form and achieve top quality sun-ripened in the wine cellar. Reflection of the individual vine year, charisma and ideology of the winemaker make our wines unique.

We live our passion for wine with joy and enthusiasm. Constancy and authenticity are fundamental elements of our wine philosophy.

Visit us in the shop every Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Or on Saturday in the wine cellar with tasting from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We look forward to your visit and greet you warmly from Thal, the village of vines
