The first Zweifel Rebberg in Zurich-Höngg is mentioned in a document in 1440. In 1898 the two brothers Emil and Paul Zweifel founded a wine trade, which was expanded for the first time in 1919. The acquisition of our own vineyards and the start of our own production in 1968, later the modernization of the production plant and the improvement of winemaking techniques (including the use of barriques) were important steps in the company's history. The company is still family-owned today and is managed by the 3rd and 4th generation. It is the declared aim to press wines from naturally produced grapes that are typical of the variety and location. We are proud of our awards at national and international competitions. A consequent reduction in yield combined with strict quality control, geared towards the potential of each vineyard, resulted in a major improvement in quality. 150,000 kg of grapes are processed every year. Traditionally, Riesling Sylvaner and Pinot noir were mainly grown in eastern Switzerland. International grape varieties, including disease-resistant, have also been cultivated since the early 1990s. This variety enables the creation of new assemblages that meet the highest quality standards.
